Taken when I was in San Antonio last week, grey hues on a rainy day made me think of fall.
Betwixt
Three more days
Fall solstice arrives
Cooler temperatures already charge the feel of the air
Sun shifts imperceptibly
Its light subtly slouching south
Sky hues swirling to a different dance
While lovers of autumnal magic shiver with delicious anticipation
Autumn
At first glance she is not flashy
Only later when she’s donned her fiery orange and red, earthy browns and dark magentas
Splashed her face with wild, exotic whirls of color, wind and light
Do we revel in her in finery in earnest
For now it is just mid-September
The betwixt time
When tiny autumn steals quietly in on paws of cool mists
Curls around hearth and home
Illuminates our minds with the sensuous shimmer and glow that is yet to come.
