I'm a big fan of the Environmental Working Group (EWG). Their mission is pretty straight-forward: Use the power of public information to protect public health and the environment.
My family finds EWG's info, guides and tips very useful as we we attempt to unravel the knot of living a healthier lifestyle. When there are a bazillion products claiming to be safe, natural, healthy and earth-friendly, how do you make informed buying decisions? Use EWG's Web site to research everything from sunscreen to water bottles to organic food. They unravel BS, hype, spin and panic, make sense of complex scientific info about products and industrial processes, and encourage action as needed. Yup! They're a good thing.
Their latest resource, Healthy Home Tips for Parents, offers a list of 11 fairly easy to implement steps you can take to make your home healthier. It's great advice for all -- not just parents. Download it here ::: Healthy Home Tips for Parents
